E Ink Video On Color e-paper display

Main part of the Kindle is its ePaper display. That separates Kindle from things like iPads, Samsung Galaxy and other tabs and so on. But this technology had one drawback. That is it did not have a good color display with all the other features that of a black and white display. So the Kindle was color less for the moment. But will this change?

E Ink, manufacturer of Kindle display announced their new color display technology. It is called "E Ink Triton Imaging Film" and it is the only one of its kind commercially available according to the promotional video. This new technology promises most of the same features its black and white ancestor provides. It has no back light, it can run for a month with without charging and it just looks like color paper. Well, what all these has to do with Kindle 4?

Obviously, one of the main drawbacks to the Kindle is its inability to display Color content. Especially this was critical as now more and more magazines are available via Kindle. By now, this technology seems matured enough to be used in a actual production item like Kindle. So will we see Kindle in color sooner than we anticipated? Well, this needs some waiting. I am sure Amazon will not rush to put their color Kindle versions to the markets. They are in no hurry by the looks of it. On the other hand the black and white sales are soaring for the time being. So they have the time to work their way through before going in to the color display. But this new technology shows us one of the most anticipated changes will happen in the Kindle sooner than later.
